IRC Receives $50,000 Grant from the Wal-Mart State Giving Program

On December 10, 2008, the Indiana Recycling Coalition received a one-year $50,000 grant from Wal-Mart.  With this grant, the IRC will develop a multi-pronged education campaign making the connection between recycling and climate change. This program will teach Hoosiers that recycling is one of the easiest ways for an individual to reduce their carbon footprint. The IRC will provide information about direct energy savings, reduced demand on natural resources, and the economics of recycling, specifically, that when we all recycle the infrastructure of a more sustainable economy grows.
