Indianapolis Star Article — State puts cash back into recycling promotion

That transfer was to help offset state revenue shortfalls.

Democratic state Sen. Jean Breaux of Indianapolis says she’s pleased to see some money being reinstated to the program, and hopes to see more of the funds released soon.

Breaux says the funds will be used to promote businesses that protect the environment.

The recycling fund is sustained by state fees that trash haulers pay at landfills.
